HOW WE STARTED
We love ice cream – and love the way it brings families and friends together to enjoy it!
In college a friend cut out an article highlighting 10 of the best scoop shops around the country and Lauren (Chapel Chill founder!) set out to try to visit as many of them as she could. As she traveled (and moved!) to many cities she would always try the local favorites and has always been fascinated by what makes a great ice cream experience.
Lauren didn’t take any notes, but she did take lots and lots of pictures over the years! And she always dreamed of opening her own shop – to help bring these great ice cream experiences to our community!
After 10+ years in the corporate world Lauren attended Scoop School in St. Louis to learn the ins and outs of making ice cream and running a scoop shop. And now that lifelong dream is a reality with Chapel Chill!
OUR FAMILY
Chapel Chill is owned by the Louis Family – Lauren and Andy and our daughters, Brooke and Julia.
Though we were all born in different regions of the country, Chapel Hill has been our home for more than 10 years – and we absolutely love it here!
When we are not making and serving amazing ice cream at Chapel Chill, we love to keep active. Swimming, soccer, tennis and ice hockey are favorite activities! We also love camping – exploring our beautiful state and region – and checking out events around town!
